Most things at Outback Gourmet Grill cancel free — hospitality works on goodwill. Where deposits exist to protect scarce seats, the rules below explain exactly when they convert to charges and how to get them back.

1. Restaurant reservations

Standard dining reservations cancel free up to 4 hours before the booking time — call, email or use the confirmation link.

Card-guaranteed bookings (parties of eight or more) charge $25 per no-show guest if the party doesn't arrive or cancels inside the 4-hour window.

No charges apply where we are able to re-seat the table — we will always try first and charge only if the seat genuinely goes empty.

2. Chef's Table and premium experiences

The Chef's Table and premium tasting experiences require prepayment or a 50% deposit, disclosed clearly at booking.

Cancels free to 7 days before the session. Inside 7 days the deposit converts to a credit valid twelve months — transferable, so a gift to a friend works perfectly well.

Inside 48 hours the deposit is retained, because eight seats can't be resold on two days' notice. If we re-sell your seats we refund in full anyway — always.

3. Private and corporate events

Event deposits follow the schedule in your signed proposal — typically 30% on confirmation, balance 14 days before the event.

Cancellation more than 60 days out: full refund. 30–60 days: deposit converts to a twelve-month credit. Under 30 days: sliding scale per the proposal, reflecting costs already committed to suppliers.

Postponements are treated as credits wherever the calendar allows — moving a wedding is kinder than charging for one.

4. Gift vouchers

Unredeemed vouchers are refundable to the purchaser within 30 days of purchase. After that window they're valid for their full 36 months and freely transferable instead.

Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, exchanged for gaming chips, or refunded once partially used.

If a voucher session is cancelled by us, you choose: a full refund or a rebooked date with a small bonus pour on the house.

5. If we cancel

If we must cancel any booking — supplier failure, emergency closure, force majeure — you receive a full refund of anything paid within 5 business days, or priority rebooking, whichever you prefer.

We are not liable for incidental costs such as travel or accommodation beyond the amounts paid to us directly.

6. How refunds are processed

Refunds return to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on the card issuer. Bank transfers and corporate invoices settle to the account on file.

Refund requests: [email protected] with your booking reference, or +61 3 8648 1900 during office hours.

Nothing in this policy limits rights you hold under the Australian Consumer Law — these terms sit alongside, never above.
