This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, reservations, events and venue operations at 8 Whiteman Street, Southbank, and the rights you hold over it. By using our services you accept the practices described here.

1. What we collect

We collect personal information you give us directly: name, contact details, booking and dietary preferences, payment details processed by our PCI-DSS compliant provider, and event or corporate enquiry details.

When you use the website we also collect technical information — IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and referral source — through cookies and analytics services described in our Cookie Policy.

Inside the venue, CCTV operates in public areas under Crown Melbourne's site protocols, and ID may be sighted where licensed-premises or gaming-entry laws require it.

2. How we use it

We use personal information to take and manage reservations, process payments, deliver events and transfers, respond to enquiries, meet liquor-licensing and responsible-gambling obligations, and keep the venue safe.

With your consent we send marketing about menus, events and offers. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — booking platforms, payment processors, chauffeur partners — under contract and only as needed.

3. Disclosure and overseas transfer

Some service providers store data on servers outside Australia — principally in the United States and Singapore. Where we disclose overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose information where the law requires — to licensing authorities, courts, or regulators including the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.

4. Security and retention

Personal information is held in access-controlled systems with encryption in transit and at rest. Payment card data is tokenised by our processor and never stored on our servers.

We retain booking records for seven years to meet taxation and hospitality record-keeping requirements, then securely destroy or de-identify them. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

5. Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, request deletion where the law allows, or complain about our handling of it.

Requests go to the privacy contact below. We respond within 30 days and never charge for a reasonable access request.

If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
